In a survey, a reader recently asked, “Is there actually a correlation between physically having sex and feelings of love/attachment or is that something we assume?”

There are a lot of assumptions that girls and women are unlikely to have sex without developing feelings, while boys and men are more capable of having attachment free sex.

In my experience, I’ve witnessed this. But is it biological? Or is it society’s pressure on girls to not sleep around and pressure on boys to actively pursue as many sexual encounters as possible?

A few google and database searches isn’t turning much up. What’s your experience? What do you think? Is there a biological link between having sex and developing feelings?
