This Wednesday, November 20, people murdered because of biases against transgendered people between November 20, 2012 and tomorrow will be remembered at events across Canada.
The sad truth is that at least one person each month over the past decade has been murdered purely because of prejudices against transgendered people. This is unacceptable. Transgender Day of Remembrance works to honour those who died, but also to raise awareness about this important issue.
Vigils, movie screenings, and other TDOR events will take place all over the world this Wednesday. Check online for events near you or plan your own.
